The way to produce paralysis is
to ignore the check list that follows and to try to begin with
the result (a perfect semester topic) without the journey--and
work--that's necessary to create a really good project that you
will enjoy doing, and will be justly proud of when you're done.
It's amazing how easy it is to fall into this
trap, which might also be described as trying to produce the
tip of the iceberg without the large foundation
of the submerged iceberg underneath.
The best escape route is to follow the "road
map," which follows.
START EARLY so you'll have plenty of time
to develop and write your paper.
